Zoe Weinstein, MD

Zoe Weinstein, MD, a board-certified breast surgeon practicing in the Mid Hudson Valley for more than a decade, has joined the medical staff of the Westchester Medical Center Health Network (WMCHealth), with privileges at member hospitals HealthAlliance Hospital: Mary’s Avenue Campus in Kingston and MidHudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie.

Prior to joining WMCHealth, Dr. Weinstein was in private practice for nearly 20 years and has served as Medical Director of the Fern Feldman Anolick Center for Breast Health at HealthAlliance Hospital: Mary’s Avenue Campus since 2009, a role she will continue to fill.

Dr. Weinstein is a member of the Medical Society of the State of New York and the American Society of Breast Surgeons. She is accomplished in advanced breast surgery procedures and techniques, including minimally invasive stereotactic breast biopsy; ultrasound-guided, vacuum-assisted breast biopsy; radionuclide injection for sentinel lymph node identification; and the insertion of balloon catheters for partial breast irradiation.

Dr. Weinstein earned her undergraduate degree from Sarah Lawrence College in Yonkers and her medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx. She completed an internship in anatomic pathology and a five-year residency in general surgery at Montefiore Medical Center.

Bryan B. Kagan, DPM, MCSFS, DASFP

Bryan B. Kagan, DPM, MCSFS, DASFP, was recently voted one of America’s Most Influential Podiatrists by Podiatry Management magazine as an international expert on forensic podiatry.

Dr. Kagan is an Adjunct Instructor of Forensic Podiatry at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine, a member of the Science and Practice Subcommittee of forensic podiatry at the International Association for Identification (IAI) and an Executive Board Member of the American Society of Forensic Podiatry.

He has written numerous articles on forensic podiatry and has lectured at the University of Northampton, England, and the annual IAI educational conferences and participated in the Professionals in Residence program at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, New York. He is currently collaborating on forensic research with Mike Curran, PhD, at the University of Northampton.

Dr. Kagan is a graduate of Yeshiva College, New York, and graduated with honors from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine. He completed his residency training in podiatric medicine and surgery at Coney Island Hospital, Brooklyn.

Board-certified in podiatric medicine and forensic podiatry, Dr. Kagan maintains his practice in White Plains, New York. He is on staff at White Plains Hospital and is podiatric consultant at Willow Towers Assisted Living, New Rochelle, and Throgs Neck Extended Care Facility, Bronx.

Louis Vizioli, MD

White Plains Hospital is pleased to welcome Louis Vizioli, MD, to its Physician Associates Division, adding pulmonary medicine expertise to the ambulatory physician practices aligned with White Plains Hospital. Dr. Vizioli is skilled in pulmonary and critical care medicine as well as primary care and internal medicine, having been in practice for more than 25 years. He has been an Attending Physician in the department of medicine at the Hospital since 1993 and also currently serves as a physician for the city of White Plains police and fire departments.

Dr. Vizioli earned his medical degree from New York Medical College in Valhalla. He completed his internal medicine residency and internship at Montefiore Medical Center and pulmonary fellowship at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where he was also chief fellow, critical care medicine.

Dr. Vizioli has a long and distinguished career at White Plains Hospital where he is involved in the respiratory therapy, ICU and pharmacy formulary review committees. Previously, he was medical chief of the Pulmonary and Intensive Care units and Medical Director of the Respiratory Therapy department.

Dr. Vizioli is board-certified in internal, pulmonary and critical care medicine. He holds professional memberships in the American Thoracic Society, the American College of Chest Physicians, the Society of Critical Care Medicine and the American College of Physicians. He is a member of the Medical Society of the State of New York and the Westchester County Medical Society.

Lauren Malone

The Byne Group, the agency of record for Nyack Hospital, announced that Lauren Malone, Director of Public Relations and Marketing at Nyack Hospital, has been named among the Top Hospital Marketers of the Year for 2017. This annual list is unveiled by DTC Perspectives Inc., the leading conference, training and publishing company for the consumer marketing of hospitals, pharmaceuticals and healthcare products. The 2017 class was honored at an induction ceremony at the 2017 Hospital Marketing National Conference June 5–7 in Atlanta.

The Top Hospital Marketers of the Year awards recognize extraordinary hospital marketers driving innovation and working toward better branding for their hospital, health system or facility. Honorees were judged based on industry reputation, accomplishments, innovation and notoriety among their peers, partners and media.

Iris Wertheim, MD

CareMount Medical (CMM) is proud to announce that Iris Wertheim, MD, and Jill Ratner, MD, have been selected among 10 accomplished individuals by Westchester Magazine for the publication’s fourth annual Healthcare Heroes award. Each year, Westchester Magazine seeks individuals who are making outstanding strides and accomplishments in all areas of health care. Drs. Wertheim and Ratner are being recognized due to their exceptional commitment and care for patients around the Hudson Valley and the world.

Dr. Ratner is the Chair of the Pediatric Department at CMM. She has been practicing for CMM for 33 years in Mount Kisco and has served as Chief of Pediatrics and on leadership committees of Northern Westchester Hospital. Dr. Ratner is also the co-founder of Hands Up for Haiti, a medical humanitarian organization dedicated to delivering healthcare services in remote areas of northern Haiti and to supporting local healthcare workers.

Jill Ratner, MD

Dr. Wertheim is a highly experienced and skilled physician, who has been practicing gynecologic oncology for the past 23 years and has been with CMM since 2012. Dr. Wertheim travels every year on surgical missions with a team of like-minded physicians, including surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses and medical students, to provide gynecological surgeries abroad. In the past 12 years, she has led missions in Bolivia, Uganda and Honduras, operating on dozens of women who have no access to specialized care.

Kenneth Taber

Kenneth Taber was recently elected Chair of the Board of Directors of Phelps Hospital, a 238-bed community hospital in Sleepy Hollow. Taber joined the Phelps Board in 2015 and has served on various committees, including Phelps’ Quality Assurance Committee and the Legal Affairs Committee of Northwell Health, the hospital’s health system.

Taber is a partner in the New York City office of the national law firm Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP, known as Pillsbury. For more than a decade, he led the firm’s 200-attorney litigation section. His clients have included former Mayor Michael Bloomberg and the City of New York, which he represented in what The New York Times called “landmark” litigation brought by the city to stem the flow of illegal guns. Taber is a member of the Board of Directors for the Harlem School of the Arts and serves on that Board’s Executive Committee. He is also a member of the Board of the San Francisco-based Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence.

Kathy Lunney, RN, MSN

Kathy Lunney, RN, MSN, has been appointed Vice President of Patient Care Services and Chief Nursing Officer at Nyack Hospital. Lunney will be responsible for providing leadership to the Hospital Nursing Staff, with particular emphasis on driving nursing excellence and performance improvement. She is well-known to the organization, having served as interim chief nursing officer in 2015–2016 and again in 2016–2017. Prior to her engagement at Nyack Hospital, Lunney was chief nursing officer at HealthAlliance of the Hudson Valley in Kingston, New York.
